Ach, es ist mal wieder sechster August. Das World Wide Web hat Geburtstag. An diesem Tag schrieb TBL den berühmten Beitrag in einer Usenet Gruppe. Im Jahr 1991. Man kann ihn noch immer online lesen.
The WWW project merges the techniques of information retrieval and hypertext to make an easy but powerful global information system. The project started with the philosophy that much academic information should be freely available to anyone. It aims to allow information sharing within internationally dispersed teams, and the dissemination of information by support groups.
Das war damals der Beginn des Webs der Dokumente. Heute sind wir im Zeitalter des Webs der Daten. Meta is the new content - wie man so schön sagt.
Ich frag mich immer, was ich machen würde, wenn es das Web nicht gäbe, oder wenn wir in einem Land leben würden wo es das Web nicht gibt.
