Powerlabs from Powerset
Heute kam mein Beta-Login für die natural language search of the next generation namens Powerset.
Powerset is a natural language search company that is building a transformative consumer search engine. Unlike traditional keyword search that only indexes the keywords that appear on a page, Powerset indexes the meaning of the sentences in each page. By matching the meaning of the query against the meaning of sentences in our index, Powerset can often return better, more accurate results and even return results that aren’t possible with traditional keyword search.

Zur Zeit basiert die Powerset Suche wohl "nur" auf dem Wikipedia Index. Ich habe daher mal nach "origin of information theory" in Powerset, Wikipedia (en) und Google gesucht. Ich würde grob sagen, dass die Ergebnisse der Wikipedia-eigenen Suche am schlechtesten waren. Google und Powerset waren sehr interessant, aber völlig unterschiedlich, was bei einer vernünftigen Recherche ja ganz gut ist.
Obwohl sich Powerset als the next Google darstellt, geht es mir vor allem um eine gute Alternative oder Ergänzung zu GOOG. Hier scheint Powerset auf dem richtigen Weg.
